Formula Development

1. Initial Consultation
The process begins with an in-depth consultation where we learn about your brand and product goals. Whether you're looking to create skincare or haircare, we aim to understand your vision, target audience, and desired outcomes. We discuss the type of product you want to develop—its performance, feel, colour, scent, and any specific ingredients you prefer. This initial conversation helps us align our expertise with your expectations from the start.

2. Completing the Formula Development Brief
Once we have a clear understanding of your vision, you will fill out a comprehensive Formula Development Brief. This document serves as the foundation for the entire development process, detailing the specific attributes of your desired product, including:
- Product form (e.g., cream, gel, serum, etc.)
- Viscosity (thickness or consistency)
- Scent and colour preferences
- Texture and performance
- Ingredient preferences or restrictions
The more information you provide, the better we can tailor the formula to your exact needs.

3. Research and Ingredient Selection
With the brief completed, our expert chemist conducts extensive research to identify the best ingredients and formulation techniques that align with your brand's values and product goals. Here, we detect if you're interested in using natural derive with synthetic materials or cosmeceuticals. We make sure your formula stands out in the market while meeting industry standards.

4. Prototype Development
Once the research is complete, we proceed to create the initial formulation. During this stage, you’ll receive three 100ml/g prototypes at different phases of development:
- First Prototype: A basic version of your product, created based on the initial brief and research. This allows you to assess the core elements—texture, scent, and performance.
- Second Prototype: After receiving your feedback on the first version, we refine the formula, addressing any changes or improvements you request.
- Final Prototype: A fully refined sample, incorporating all your feedback and adjustments to ensure the formula meets your expectations. Each stage allows you to review, critique, and provide feedback, ensuring that the product evolves exactly as you envisioned.

5. Product Testing and Final Adjustments
Once the final prototype is approved, we conduct rigorous testing to ensure the product is stable and safe for use. This includes:
- Stability Testing (over 2 weeks): We test for factors like colour, consistency, and shelf life under various conditions to ensure the formula holds up over time.
- Compliance Checks: We ensure that your product complies with NAFDAC/EU standards for cosmetic products, so you’re ready for market entry.

6. Final Formula and Packaging Preparation
After the testing phase, the finalised formula is prepared, and we provide you with all necessary documentation, including the formula, production procedure, and NAFDAC/EU-compliant labelling guidelines. This helps ensure your product is legally ready for sale in your chosen market.
